These aren’t very bright because the three LEDs are covered by a surprisingly opaque rounded bulb tip. Imagine a plastic Easter egg, but thicker. My solar bulbs (and most other types) have frosted covers. But, pop off the cover, and they’re great. They seem to come off and go on without damaging anything. I’ll keep the cover on while transporting and pop it off for use. Because each one uses three AAA batteries, I believe one set of rechargeable batteries should last an entire trip. Only time will tell. Great little item, other than the cover.
